David Duong is the Head of Research for Coinbase Institutional. He currently leads the cryptocurrency research effort for institutional clients of Coinbase, examining crypto market themes, protocol risks and macro trends. He was previously the head of Latin America FX Research at HSBC managing coverage on markets including Argentina, Brazil, Chile, Colombia, Mexico and Peru and coordinating the economics teams in these countries as part of the research product offering. For much of his career, he was an EM rates strategist with experience in quantitative modeling. Duong has a BA in computer science from Colgate University and a MSc from the London School of Economics. He is also a CFA charterholder.
